ASU Symphony Orchestra & Music Theatre and Opera Concert Collaboration
About this event
The ASU Symphony Orchestra presents the first half of the concert with works by Louise Farrenc and Manuel de Falla, and features faculty guest artist Jeff Anderle, solo clarinet, on Michael Torke's "October," in a new version commissioned by ASU Orchestras. The second half of the concert features ASU Music Theatre and Opera in collaboration with the ASU Symphony Orchestra presenting "Prologue to Ariadne auf Naxos" by Richard Strauss. In Ariadne auf Naxos, we experience how a marriage of convenience between high-brow opera and low-brow comedy can succeed. Invention triumphs and harmony prevails. Please join us for this concert celebrating the breadth and talent of ASU's own artistic community. Repertoire: Louise Farrenc: Overture No. 2 in E-flat Major Michael Torke: October (Jeff Anderle, solo clarinet) Manuel de Falla: El Sombrero de Tres Picos, Suite No. 2 Richard Strauss: Ariadne auf Naxos (Prologue)
All patrons must have a ticket, including infants in arms. Venue is accessible to all patrons. Seats in accessible section are limited to one companion seat. THERE IS NO ACCESSIBLE SEATING AVAILABLE IN BALCONY OR TIER SECTIONS.
